Our client is a high-profile bank with a privileged position in the region.  They are looking for an experienced Compliance Manager to drive a successful business model

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Compliance, you will be fully responsible for:

• Implementation and maintenance of AML/Sanction policy within the firm
• Improving the committee risk management process and oversight
• Completing AML risk assessment at regular intervals through the review of risk register and assessment undertaken
• Developing monitoring & testing framework and carrying out risk based testing on Compliance framework
• Acting as an AML/CFT advisor to the business to provide practical solutions
• Being the contact point for new regulatory requirements and managing risk impact of any changes
• Providing the expertise including framework, stakeholder involvement and documentation to oversee the process
• Coordinating regulatory audits through monitoring and testing of obligation compliance and effectiveness of controls
• Ensuring AML policy is well understood by all stakeholders in the firm

The Successful Applicant

You will be a University Graduate holding a degree in law and/or economics preferred with at least 5-6 years experience gained within banking AML and compliance related areas.  You will possess sound knowledge of regulatory risk and HKMA/SFC requirements. Candidates with an Audit background will be a great advantage.  Strong communication, fast decision making and having the right mentality is essential for the role.  Fluency in English is needed.
