Regional Head of Finance (Hong Kong)

Our client is a leading European brand name globally recognized for their clothing, home and furniture products, books and toys. With a long established history and nearly 1000 stores worldwide, they have been known across Asia for over 20 years for consistently producing top quality and innovative lines of products that touch homes in many ways. Due to a recent restructure and a new management team to drive the future for the region, they are now looking for a Head of Finance to be an integral member of the team.
Reporting directly to the Group CFO in Europe, and working with the Managing Director of the Asia business, you will be responsible for all financial matters for the sourcing operation. You will lead a large team across finance, IT and administration for Asia and ensure all reporting is accurate and completed on a timely basis. More importantly, your role is commercially oriented and you will work with the operations to understand business issues and look to drive profitability by providing commercial analysis, cost controls and management of risks. You will also assist with all supplier negotiations, review contracts and manage local tax and treasury matters, cash flows and foreign exchange. Furthermore, you will act as a key bridge with the European headquarters and the Asia operations to shape strategy and the future direction of the sourcing business.
Suitable candidates will be qualified ACA/CPA professional accountants with 12-15 years of experience, with a Big 4 audit firm followed by commercial corporation in a similar sourcing, retail, FMCG or trading environment. Candidates must have a stable career background demonstrating progression in each role, and familiarity with working in European cultures. You should also have good regional experience reaching from China to India, be able to work across cultures and have strong communication skills to liaise with all local markets and headquarters. You will naturally be commercial astute and enjoy being involved with the business to drive change and really make a difference. Some flexibility to travel across the region and to Europe will be required.

Senior Manager, Greater China (Intermediaries and Institutional) (Singapore)
Our client is a top tier international asset management firm that offers global investment management expertise through global/international funds. They are currently seeking a Senior Manager, Greater China covering both institutional and intermediaries clients. The position will be based in Singapore.
The role will be responsible for the expanding of sales and business development primarily in North Asia (China, Hong Kong and Taiwan markets). The role will handles significant institutional and intermediaries client relationship responsibilities and promotes investment product sales through frequent client meetings and discussions covering investment strategy, new products and markets developments. Also to identify prospective clients, prepare presentations, follow up of investment services and participate in regular investment meetings with the investment team and be able to articulate the investment process and product sales pitch to prospective clients. The incumbent will be responsible for expanding the North Asia funds business through increasing market share, acquire clients AUM and achieving overall business objectives and revenue targets.
To be considered for this critical role, you will need to demonstrate:
- Minimum of 5-8 years relevant sales/marketing experience, preferably in the asset management business.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of Greater China markets with extensive client relationships.
- Comprehensive knowledge of investment products and markets with managerial skills and a proven new business generator.
- A self-starter who revels in building a new business and can operate independently under general business guidance.
- Excellent command of Mandarin/Cantonese skills are required as candidates will be working with Chinese and Hong Kong clients.
