Ran Heads the ALS Shanghai office and leads the China team. He has over 15 years of experience in both Executive Search and RPO in APAC, working across Commercial, Financial and Professional Service sectors. Prior to joining ALS, Ran helped a UK-based recruitment agency to establish operations and expand its China RPO business. Ran is known for his strong track record of success, assisting regional clients in designing creative recruitment solutions and manging senior level appointments. Ran has a global best practice mindset and extensive local knowledge.
Ran studied and lived in Europe for 8 years in three different countries, Holland, UK & Spain. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, a Master’s Degree in Marketing, and a Certificate in Intermediate Spanish. He is a native Mandarin speaker, fluent in English and conversational in Spanish.

Yunyun Gu
Associate Director – Life Sciences
Yunyun has 9 years’ mid to senior search experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. She has a track record of delivering on complex and challenging China based searches, encompassing a broad range of functional disciplines and often sourcing candidates from multiple markets. A graduate of Shanghai University of Traditional Medicine Yunyun commenced her career as a doctor. She used her medical knowledge and experience as a springboard into executive search and maintains a keen interest in the healthcare sector and the welfare of her candidates and clients.

Vivian Wang
Senior Consultant - Legal
Vivian holds a Bachelor in Human Resources and Finance from University of Waikato, New Zealand.
Vivian joined ALS in 2008 and specialises in the recruitment of supporting roles to law firms such as Translators, HR, Marketing Professionals, and Office Managers. She also works with junior lawyers placing them into law firms and multinationals.
Vivian is a native Mandarin and fluent English speaker.

Sophie Liu

Sophie is a Consultant specializing in the technology sector supporting a variety of industries and has built up a strong network of IT profesionals . Sophie began her recruitment career after graduating and prior to joining ALS worked for a large listed international recruiting firm in Shanghai. Sophie has a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Lingnan University in Hong Kong and has a Master’s Degree in Economics from Tufts University in the U.S. She speaks fluent Mandarin and English.

Shelley is a Senior Consultant in ALS’s Shanghai office. She has specialized in legal BD and recruitment for over 10 years and has developed a strong insight into the legal industry and fostered broad client and candidate relationships. She has a proven track record placing associates and partners into various law firms, senior-level counsel, General Counsel into multinational companies and domestic enterprises. She has also helped several newly established law firms build up the team from scratch.
